I do that on ice but the derby tracks I run on are rectangle mud pits, I just slam them to the floor before I end up hitting a wall. Someday maybe I'll get to run on a big dry track like the derbies I see on here.

I'd like to have the option of steering and braking at the same time. It's pretty much stand on the gas and mash the brakes where I run. The tracks are so small there's just no time to try and pump the brakes. It's just lock them up and hope you don't get hung up on dead cars or the walls or logs they put around the track.

How many times have you seen someone with the rear lifted off the ground and getting pushed all over and even out of the arena? I used to just run rears till I was pushed out and just along for the ride. I'll take 4 whenever possible.

Ran one front brake for most of the cars I ran Undecided yet except never a right front..ever Had that one brake hang on me once in a mudfest with 2 other cars..I won it , but they broke We got talked into re running with just the 2 cars..I lost , but killed the back end of the other car in 2 hits. getting pushed sucks , but been pushed sideways into a cat blade hurts...Brakes or not it wouldent have mattered. so far , Im leaning to one brake..cause its one less thing to do and you can blast a nut real easy

Fronts ONLY on all our cars! Never had a problem even on Caddies, rears are just many little pieces to break and fail. And pinion brakes are a real good way to break other more expensive parts!

How do you stop the rear tires from spinning to change gears? Just slamming it must be tough on the driveline.

I try to avoid pushing matches, but when i've gotten into them i've used my engine power, not my braking power. ...I can see the point about getting the backend off the ground though. until I have that issue I will eliminate the brakes from the non drive axle if easily done or if i'm already having to screw with brake lines.

Only problem with front brakes is when you get in the mud they like to lock up.Been running rears for 25 yrs with np's.Have seen a very good local guy taked out in his mopar's just cause he was running front brakes and they lock up on him.

For the guys not running front breaks, are you guys just taking off the caliper and mount, or are you guys taking the rotor off too? Or, are you just breaking out the hub of the rotor and just running that? I've heard people around here talkin about they broke other suspension parts due to not running the rotor, but I don't see the point of running it unless it's for spacing purposes, which then either the hub could be used, or just build a spacer. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? Rotor turns with the wheel If you get hit that hard that the rotor will bind ..you have way bigger problems already and wont notice it

True on the bigger problems thing. Plus, their cast so they would crack instead of bend.
