So my question is whether or not you guys prefer solid suspension or stiffer coils last few years I have been running solid suspension and I'm not sure that I'm doing the right thing I think that is causing my cars to bend in odd spots and sooner than they should been running mid 90s town cars for the last two years because they were free got a 73 impala that I'm working on for spring I'm just about to pull the body off the frame and not sure what route to take with the old girl any suggestions would be great thanks

I used 3/4 ton springs stretched to the max then stuffed the shocks with old rags

Yea I'm thinking that I will just go with the stiffer coils ya know for the last few years I've been clamping my shocks with exhaust clamps but I do remember as a kid my old man and my grandpa stuffing there shocks with ragg never really paid attention to how they did it though so I guess the next question is how do you stuff em I think I remember them jacking up the and just shoving them in their with a screwdriver

That's about it jack it up let the rear end just hang to where the shocks are fully extended. Tag rags and a screw driver and shove them in. Let the car down bounce it a few times to really stuff them in there. Do that tell you get a stiffness you want. It keeps it stiff but also has a little bounce.

No problem. There are a ton more ways to make your suspension stiffer just that way is cheap and easy. Good luck to ya and don't forget to post pics of the car before and after. And try to get vids

I reuse almost everything I think I have like 1000-1500 total in my derby stuff. Idk maybe I'm just cheap. But I dont go to win. I go to have fun meet new people make new friends and become a local legend

all of our old iron we go solid on the suspension. We actually put a piece of pipe (bumper jack work good too) between the frame and lower A arm. I like them solid myself, I'm not going under anyone and welding it that way makes it really easy to change an upper A arm if need be.
