the only thing I used dry ice for is my tranny cooler works pretty good too keep ice in it longer Not a good Idea! its too cold and you can cavitate the pump in your transmission. 32 deg. F is plenty cold, -109 deg. F is just retarded. I use two bags of ice and a little block of dry ice to keep the ice in the cooler longer.

Anyone ever use dry ice with a big engine oil cooler and said forget about loop radiator hoses and just ran the engine dry blocked? ?

Lines would be frosted. yeah I started doing this after I boiled the water in my cooler one time cause the ice melted. tried it and it works pretty good I think

My big car cooler has oil and trans in the same chest but It's only 80#'s of ice. I'm still running a radiator though. Once again, running just dry ice would be not good for your motor. I'm from MN and now first hand how 15w-40 flows at -30 deg.
