I am not trying to step on anyones toes or start an arqument. I am just stating what experimenting and research has allready proven. The best advise is always do whatever works best for you with your specific setup. I ran circle track cars for years and we adjusted the amount of reastiction with different size washers to increase the operating temperatures because an engine performs best at higher temps. However for our application, heat is our biggest enemy. We want our motors to run as cool as possible. Do some experimenting on your set-up and come up with your own conclusion.

I don't get angry over internet stuff, if I don't like what I'm reading, I stop reading Sounds like you may have more experience at it than me. I know what you're saying about engine temp, all engines are designed to operate at a certain temp with a certain oil for the longest engine life and to make the most capable compression. So, cavitation and air pockets do not become an issue with the increased flow rate?

Not if you leave about an inch of air space in the top of your radiator.

I dont claim to be an expert on anything. Experiment and do some research and figure out what works best for you.

So what You're telling me is to buy a 12 pack, temp gun, stop watch, and legal pad to take notes make sure I have 1 hour 2 nights in a row to measure temps...
I have found the best way to get you're call totally full of water is to top it off while it's running right before your heat...

Im saying leave an inch of air space to allow for expansion before it releases the pressure out of your cap.

Supposably you can buy washers that are made to fit with different hole sizes. I guess they are popular on drag cars. I still cant find them but you can make your own to restrict flow. They are made by moroso, and are available in a 3 pack of various sizes
