I started in compacts in month of may when I started many years ago. And I had found and older builder that was getting out and I bought his old stock car. I had ran my compact twice before having my fullsize ready to go by July the same year. It's all in how much time you got on your hands. Still today I run both. Compacts are more of a filler. That car sits more then it runs. Neither is cheaper at all. Plus side to fullsize there's all ways a sbc for sale vs if you run compact and blow up a front wheel drive engine and have a lot of car left.

When welding spider gears and using brake cleaner to clean the gear oil off the carrier be sure to rid all the fumes created by the brake cleaner before welding!!!!!! That stuff is major toxic. I generally clean them out and wait until the next day to weld them. You dont ever want to breathe that stuff. I believe the gas produced is phosgene. it was used to kill 77000 people in ww1
