Same 01 Caravan that I posted on the first page, took a year off derbying but I'm running it this year now. Moved the battery and gas tank, put a seat bar in and doubled the front tires. I will post afters, derby is in 2 weeks.

onehardhitter0129 Everytime I hit with the ass end (pretty much the entire derby) I was smashing my back through the seat against the seat bar. After 12 or so minutes of that my back was all jacked up. I could hardly walk for 2 days, and I missed a week of work. It's still causing me problems now, and I'm starting to think it might always cause me problems. I'm only 21 lol.

Up here though everyone just runs the stock seats which is what I was running in my van. The whole ordeal could have been prevented. I had luckily gotten by plenty of times with the stock seat and the seat bar rested up against it. This time I didn't. I should have been more careful but all I can do now is learn from my mistakes. I have a plan on how to correct it and it won't be happening again lol.

The guy we know had his to low an hit so hard seat snapped an broke his back. Been awhile since that happened tho.

To all the guys running the Caravans, I've ran two now, and hurt my back both times. I have my seat bar mounted all the way to bottom of the side windows, (which is still a little lower than I would prefer) but the real problem is the seat is just a metal pan with a thin cushion. The last time I ran, the doctor said i torqued my right ribs so hard i tore all the meat that holds the ribs together, took over 8 weeks to recover, hurt worst than broken ribs. Almost pulled of the track in pain, but glad i stuck it out, cause ended up taking first. From here on out, I'll either be replacing the seat, and finding a way to mount it at a decent height, or find some kind of energy absorbing something to mount between seat and seat bar
