Don't hit anyone on the first lap. It usually just pisses them off, and they have the whole race to pay you back

Go out there with the intentions of racing not doing a demo. Typically if you go out there to just hit people someone with a better car will take you out. Remember to steer with your throttle if you are driving a rear wheel drive car. Just remember to go out there and have fun. That is what it is all about.

If they have a compact class you will be fine. That is where I started.

Ha, I still haven't graduated from compacts... With FWD, if the track is anything more wet than tacky, be on the brakes early and use the inside line. Usually when they wet the track down, they don't always get the inside well, so there's more traction there. Depending on your driving abilities, take out the ratchet mechanism for the e-brake so it doesn't lock, and use it when going into the corners to keep from under steering, too. Avoid side to side smashing when in the straights, it almost always ends in a cut sidewall for one of the cars, especially in FWD since the wheels are spinning faster, and yours don't looked doubled/tubed and would go flat easily. Don't get too excited and be too much on the gas. If you can't get around a car that's right in front of you, be patient and wait for the next corner, he may give you a good opening. If you go a couple laps and can't get around him, then try to spin him... Take a sledge hammer with you, since you didn't prebend, those fenders may smash down and end up getting into your tires, which ends up in a flat Heres a video of my heat race I ran about a month ago that I got first in. Jumping the start may have helped a bit, but you get the idea of how I drive, and it works for me... www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4sQfJYRRuE&feature=c4-overview&list=UUCQyD4xg3xkS3T3NuHlyQvA

Some good info above, helped me with somethings but our corners are quite a bit bigger then that. We use the corners of the oval track and go through the infield. youtu.be/3rYT6EPypUM

Yeah, I've yet to run on a track that will have that much speed.
Disconnect your front sway bar. That way your inside tire, which will be the one the power is transferring to since it will have the least amount of traction, will have more force pushing down on it, so you will have better traction. If not, when you go around the corner, the body will roll, making the sway bar lift up on the inside tire=less down force=less traction...

Not the best outcome for my first time on the track but it was one hell of a fun time. Car overheated in heat and then i was running 6th out of 9 in the feature and ended up hitting the wall and couldnt get back on the track till i was 2 laps down

Hey man as long as you had fun. Hope there's enough car left to put it back together and get another run out of it. What do you think caused it to overheat?

My fan decided to quit working which is why it overheated. we then hardwired the fan to the battery and it worked fine an ran the feature. Then ran it again saturday night in the figure 8 and had an absolute blast!! I plan on running it again next year there is alot of car left
