The only year that the trans on a 4.6 had the same pattern as a 302 was early 1991. Thankx for info on anti lock and maf sensor

There's a pic of my car.No wires were cut out-just moved. The coils don't need to be grounded. As you can see I run a cooling system, just plug off the hose at the lower radiator hose that goes to the overflow bottle and cut the upper hose and use a radiator cap fitting. I've done a few of these and it takes me 1 hour to do everything you see here.I use the coil brackets, rad hoses, and air intake from car to car.

Mine looks like Jugulators but my coils set on top the valve cover in angle iron brackets. If your usin the stock tank hot wire to the pink and black fuel pump wire.It looks scary but it isn't that hard to move the wiring, it all unplugs at the drivers side firewall sorry for the delay..... coils don't have to be grounded... zip tie them to the fuel rail.. don't use the fender soleniod...there is one on the starter..wire in a starter button to that little wire on the starter,,,, like on a chevy starter.. move the EDIS module off the fender,, cut the exhaust off at the mainifolds,,,, weld on flex pipe,,, use the key ignition,,,, it works,, I only run rear brakes,,tee the line from the master to the rears,,, run new line,,, tee on the rear also.. check the fuel lines,,, they rot out,,, we always use new ones,,, 70 % of the wires are not needed,,,,some day I'm going to make a custom engine harness for a 4.6,,, ..........lenny,,,

I know if you don't need the dash for any of the electrical stuff you can take the dash out and cut about a third of the steel back out on the drivers side and bolt it back to the door frame and steering column to support the column. Just run a couple straps to the dash bar to help support to the right of the column. I've done this to a weld class car but don't know if there is any thing in the dash that needs to stay to keep the 4.6

Loned my 302 set up to my step son and now they changed the rules so this is my alternative to not having to buy another car or motor and I thought the stock cable shifter would make it easier for her, already had a weld car built now It's stock rules with Chevy to Chevy Ford to Ford

We put a 89 302 & trans in a 92 town car,4.6 was blown up .It was fairly easy ,you need to change the motor mounts on the K frame (three bolts), redrill the tranny mount to accommodate new trans location, and the drive shaft had to be shortened about 3/4 inch.

If you take out the instrument cluster,,, the alternator won't charge,,,, the voltage from the ign. switch to power up the alternator goes through that,,,
