2nd place. Had it won and let pride get throttle happy on the last hit but had a blast love driving these r bodies. Ain't a slouch by any means I love that style in the 80s or newer stock classes. They kick ass!

Building my first new style newport. Just looking for some advice on front and rear. I can remove pucks up front and bolt tight. Weld bumpers to frame fold hood and run 1inch all thread threw core support. Also was going to pre bend ass end and chain rearend around frame. Anything else a guy could do?

By pre bend what do you mean? I may dimple the frame to make it roll but I wouldn't start bending it up.

Got the goody out of this jalopy......the learning curve on the 79-81's is still steep for me. Fronts are a no brainer but the trunks are a different story. Definitely made this one too hard behind the back doors. Won the 2 man team show with my dad and won mad dog: Could explain how you made it too hard behind doors? In the middle of building same damn thing and I’ve sucked about every open frame hole tight to body. We’re you allowed any welding in back besides bumper and shocks?

I think something to give it a weak spot would help. Crazy thing about it was for the most part the frame was straight on the back and front. It shoved mostly straight forward and the floors in front of the rear frame rails had a little rust, not much but apparently enough it should have been addressed.

Yeah what’s you cell? I could send you pics I can’t figure how to upload them on here. Front is straight as an arrow yet back is starting to roll but not much.

Any chance any one has a pic of the under side of one of these? Haven't had time to pick up one with the loader to get the pics I need.
