besides a pointy or 74 chevy bumper, what would you recommend for a 75 caddy. 76 olds seam welded? any other recommendations. Newport bumper.

As stated, flat Newport would be good, I would also add 74/75 Monte Carlo would be near the top of my list.

Are 76 cutlass bumpers the same as Olds 88?. They look exactly the same.

Is it steel on the backside? I know the lincolns had alumiunm backing to help cut some weight. Looks like the same exact skin as the Elites is why I am asking. I haven't looked at that year bird in forever so you got me thinking now .

just picked up a 1970's pontiac bumper, how do i tell what year it is and if its a tough bumper, its got the pointy on it with two push rubbers on the skin, its only got the actual pointy steel on the top, is this a good bumper?

Im thinking about running it on my 69 continental mark 3 Without seeing the backing of the 76 (google image search) i'd say they are the same bumper. flat steel backed, with a small point, i would say its comparable to the ford elite bumper on pg 9 with less point and its flatter along the back (mounting) side.

A 69 Continental was pre shock bumper. They have no backing and are just a chrome skin.
Not any good for derby use unless you are welding it over a homemade backing.
Again, anything pre 73 I is junk. And I only include 73 because a few are OK. Basic rule of thumb is 74+ bumpers.
