The 76 Impala rear end should bolt up. I just put a 76 Imapala rear end in a 92 Mercury and bolted right in with no problems.

Must be stock trailing arms, need to know which ones to use or which combination is best i just put a 10 bolt out of a 74 impala in my vic used the ford upper and lowers. are you allowed to shorten the lowers and over lap?

I was wondering about building an 8.8. I saw a thread ON here about putting 9 inch axles in one. I have a leafed 9 inch with a bent tube i could use the bearing cups off of and i also already have a back brace and bottom brace for the 8.8. I didn't know what all had to be changed to put 9inch axles in the 8.8 housing. Also would any other stock axles setups work in this housing ( 12BOLT or 8 3/4) Thanks

If your gonna use 31 spline axles (highly recommended), you will need the carrier from an explorer 8.8, they are all 31 spline. Can get the 3.73 or maybe 4.10 gear from the explorer too. I made one up a few years ago, has taken a real beating with no problems.

Do they still have the flat pinion yoke for a slider or can you reuse the one off the old pinion?

Either go the Exploder carrier route and weld your spiders or just get the properly splined spool for an 8.8.
Everything is common for 8.8s, same center as Mustangs and guys off-road with Exploders

Didn't see anything on here, but I remember reading on here somewhere....Mini-Spools, are they good for our use in a 9"? I remember reading a while ago that a spool was great in one and bad in the other (9" and mopar 8 3/4, I have both). I ordered a mini-spool from Speedway ($25.06 and it was here in 2 days i was pleased) Just hoping it wasn't a horrible buy.

You can but a 28 or 31 spline full spool from quick performance for $65 which is a no brainer for me
