From what I was seeing, the new style lowers appear to be spread out more, wasn't sure if I was going to gave to move the mounts on the rear end. I know the tops are way different. If I have to move lower mounts im just going to slap in a 31 spline truck rear end and build mounts on it. Just trying to avoid changing as much as I could, I know when I get to this car I will be pressed for time.

so will a nine inch work under a 80's boxe for without and mods? unless your leafing it and the spring perches are the correct width then no but its not hard to fab up some brackets. heres a pic of the one I whipped up

Have a 31 spline equal axle length housing out of a ford truck. There anyway to know if it has the 2.890 or the 3.060 carrier bearings w/o just measuring it?

99% sure it will have 2.890 carrier bearings ... Unless someone switched tha 3rd member sometime in its life. Some standard cases are also machined to take the larger 3.063”(the C7AW-G mainly) side bearings, most cases however (including N cases) will take the 2.892” side bearings. Aftermarket spools and cases are available that accommodate even larger bearings-3.250" and 3.812", but Ford used just the two sizes from what I have seen. The carrier I have seen with the 3.063" larger side bearings is the C7AW-G marked single ribbed case, it came from a late 60's Galaxie.Have heard that the case C4AW-4025-C is also a large bearing single ribbed case. If you have a C7AW-E case , which will be stamped on the front of the case .. It has 2.892 carrier bearings..

When putting a 10 bolt from a 76 Caprice under a 80's+ Ford, which trailing arms do I use? Chevy Upper and Ford Lower? Or Ford Upper and Chevy Lower? Or Chevy Uppers and Lowers? Or Ford Uppers and Lowers?

Make your own if rules allow it.

Must be stock trailing arms, need to know which ones to use or which combination is best
