we had a Ford 9 with stock 28 spline axles twist and break four axels on us last year. Get rid of stock and get better axles.

Well i would prefer to run a 9in or a dana 60 because i have two drag cars and have multiple gears for each...however, it has been easier to find dana 60's

also is there a topic on here about tilting with a video or pictures. i have noticed a lot of vics and town cars appear to be lowered towards there rear end and the front sitting up high. and some it looks like there are body spacers between the body and frame. I also need to learn about hard nosing?

best thing i can say is no matter what axles your running make sure your wheels aren't spinning when someone hits em

Get rid of stock and get better axles. started out running stock 9", no good! then beefed up the axles and blow out the center. now i still run 9" but with nodular centers 3.25 bearings, moser 35 spline axles and ok so far. 10bolt alot easier. just wanted to see how tough i would have to make this 9' to handle my gm powerplant! lol!

Has anyone made a 9 inch/ dana60 hybrid? I have a set of 35 spline axles and bearing housings from a dana60. What do I need besides a 35 spline full spool for a small bearing housing 9 inch?

Thats one number I got on google but summit has aftermarket axles for it listed at 34.340 inches not sure whats up with that is the 30 29/32 to the end of the splines or the total length including the c clip part

One thing I can assure you is that axle is not 34 inches long. I think that is from the end of the flange to end of c-clip .. I will have to look at one tomorrow evening.. I'll take a picture with a tape layed on it. Take my advice and cut the bearing housing off so you can install 9 inch bolt in style axle's. I wouldn't buy moser axles for a c-clip style rear.. Find a 9 inch. But I'll look at um tomorrow.

Will a78 Lincoln 9" go in a new style (lower trailing arms and spring cups) without mod? I know the upper mounts need to be moved, wasn't sure on the rest

I know the upper mounts need to be moved, wasn't sure on the rest That's what i used in my 80's box lincoln's but i cut of the lower control arm brackets off the 8.8 and welded them on the 9" and made my own uppers but still used the factory bushings.
