Lol i was wondering if you were still around. stock for stock the fmx and c6 argument is a close i also forgot to say ive had issues busting imput shafts on C6s thats happend twice to me one 2WD and one 4x4 in a bronco with a lazy 351w. if building them your going to be able to build 2 C6s for one FMXs. So the FMX will lose that fight if your dumping money in them. but if were building transmissions lets not forget about the C6s baby brother the C4 they can be made almost bullit proof with a cheap $250 red disk kit and a $80 2400 police interceptor stall from oreillys. thats combo i have now in my racecar and i have used that transmission for 3 years and the one b4 this i used for 6 years.

My personal pecking order for derby use is C-6, FMX, AOD, C4. If your not already running gears then the FMX is the way to go, they seem like they are geared lower. The only ford trans that has failed on me was a C-4

I have Nerat trans yoke. The AOD trans I have has a rubber tailshaft seal that sticks out about 1". Is it ok to leave this or will it tear from rubbing on the trans yoke? Is there some other seal I can replace it with?

Anyone know the thread size for the transmission line fitting for an AOD from a 1987 Crown Vic? I need to get fittings that will adapt to hydraulic lines for a tranny cooler.

some of them have an adapter on the tranny others do not... gotta check it urself or take the old line off and take it to the shop to get it matched up.

There is a fitting that screws into the trans and then the lines that "snap in" to the fitting. I am going to go everything threaded on the cooler lines. some of them have an adapter on the tranny others do not... gotta check it urself or take the old line off and take it to the shop to get it matched up.
