Dirt in the carb? Bad fuel pump? need new filters?? Tank setup? too many variables or even if it is a gas problem with the sense of motor mechanics I get from u.More information might help.

Got it figured out slapped a new carb on it fuel filter and a new fuel hose. To all you people that said putting some one on there lid was bad I had a guy on his side didn't have enough speed to go all the way and it was my first derby.

Bigger jets! You need more fuel when it gets hot.

I do a few things to mine but I kicked around ideas. And added some aftermarket homemade stuff to mine.Had stalling issues all last year and not1 stall yet this year(on modified carb) and 3 feature wins.Biggest thing is to start with a CLEAN CARB.That's about the only hint I'm willing to provide.

I have a motorcraft 2150 that I am going to clean up (carb kit & float) for a ford 302 efi to carb conversion. the carb has the 1.08 venturi, any pointers on jet sizes to use and float height?

It all depends on the motor...Ignition system and Cubic inch etc.A 1.08 is a tiny carb and best suited for a 289 my best guess is that you have a 2100 instead. For example I have 2 derby motors a 302 and a 351w the jet sizes between the 2 motors are 7 sizes.Other factors include weather and geographical location.

For ignition I plan to install an HEI distributor, Engine is a Stock 302 from an 87 crown vic, location is Austin, TX. The carb currently has jets with 52F stamped in them.

Would a fuel pressure regulator be needed? I have an acdelco EP12S pump going to a motorcraft 2150 (1.08 venturi size) carb. The motor is a 302 with and HEI distributor.
