I figured i would be cut one mount off the frame and be re-mounting it in a new position onthe frame mounts. I know pre 95 they would have opteight up and I'm not intrested in citing or fabbing up tubing pieces as to the rules may not like how I establish the mounting with square tubing if I went that route.

That's not gonna work very well. Bottom joint should be right at the box

Astro van steering shaft will fit the Ford box with some convincing. Plenty of room.

So.. i have a beat to death 97 lincoln and looking to get one more run but the the center link is hitting the k member hardcore binding the steering . Thoughts on cutting, removing a small section of the center link and welding back together with a pipe to reinforce it? Any suggestions?

Heat it and bend it. I usually heat and bend mine before I even run the car.

Working on my 98 tonight, I got to thinking....... Since they come with factory power steering and transmission coolers (not sure if the factory system is two separate lines, or one long line with 2 inputs and 2 outputs, probably the first), but just thinking out side of the box here...... Would running a power steering cooler help these Ford steering boxes any? Run your pressure side to the cooler, to the box, then the box back to the pump? Also, I haven't searched it yet, but I'm running a 318 Magnum from a dakota, and I am still running the factory (ish) serpentine setup. Does anyone know what lines, without the previously mentioned PS cooler, would work? Out of curiosity, I'm going to try the power steering cooler, I've got the 2 bolt box ford steering box that I'll probably be swapping on anyways, but maybe the lower power steering temperatures will prolong the life of the plastic gears?

I don't think heat is what us killing them. Its getting hit in the wheels and the wheels turn farther than the steering boxes mechanical limits. If I were concerned about box failure Id spend my time making/modifing steering stops. The spindle has to stop turning independately before the box maxes out. You can't depend on one side to keep the other from turning too far. And that doesn't only apply to Ford boxes. No box likes to exceed its mechanical limits as far as turing radius is concerned.

whats the best way to bolt stock 91 lincoln a arms down to jack the front end upĀ Can you weld, chain, swap a-arms, or does it have to be bolted with stock upper a-arms?

Is there a smaller front brake caliper that will fit a 98-02 vic spindle? I am wanting to run a front brake on a hand lever and wanting the most clearance from the caliper to the wheel.
