There is a small metal bracket that the bump stop was in. It comes of the frame under the a arm. If you go look you will see it. Cut that off and you will gain a little height Thank you! I will get it done tonight!

powerbyford21 Future Icon 10 hours ago Quote Selected Edit Post Select Post Deselect Post Report Post Delete Post Back to Top I've looked through the threads and all I found was remove the rubber stopper under the a arm. What else other than that? I thought maybe if I replace the shocks with althread then I could? But I don't completely know how to do that. I just don't want the springs to fly out. Any tips would be great. Weld a peice of angle iron in between your spring coils and there ya go. Pretty simple. Or you can put a water pump pulley in between your spring and a arm and weld it in. powerbyford21 Future Icon 1 minute ago Quote Options Edit Post Select Post Deselect Post Report Post Delete Post Back to Top The thing is when I pick it up off the ground it doesn't move but 2". I don't know if it's the rubber stoppers or what but even after that it would only give me 2". Replace them with 1980-1992 ford a arms or metric gm ones. The only problem with going with the gm ones is you will loose some height gain.

On my 94 Vic if I bought a manual master cylinder and bolted it up I could use the same pedal and everything? I'm just running back brakes. Thanks

So I have read This whole thread and see the same question I am about to ask, but no answers.. I used an adapter plate to put a 70s gm steering box on my 98-02, what needs to be done as far as the pitman arm goes? does it need swapped to the Ford? Any mods to do this? Do I need to Modify the GM pitman arm? Thanks! ^^^This, We had been using an unmodified 73 caprice box with no issues up until the last show. Thinking the center link may be bent as the tires are toed in and the drives side tie rod is now hitting the engine cross-member cradle. Would be interested to learn if swapping out the pitman arm would get the drivers side tie rod further forward. I measured a buick steering box pitman arm to be a 1/2 inch longer than the caprice. Will a ford pitman arm bolt onto the buick steering box?

I have a 97 frame and wondering how you guys are mounting your upper a-arms via swapping to box ford or metric gm etc, when doing a swap. I read through the 13 pages but not much was stated about other than its easy.

I have a 97 frame and wondering how you guys are mounting your upper a-arms via swapping to box ford or metric gm etc, when doing a swap. I read through the 13 pages but not much was stated about other than its easy. Here is how I did mine. It was a 1996? So I guess its the same setup. I was in a rush and did that, and worked really fine. I just made some kind of sleeve from a round tubing the size of the 80's a arms hole, weld some thick washers at both ends of the sleeve, a put a bolt thru it. I just put an althread with a couple of nuts/washer in the rear hole. I trimmed a little bit of the a-arms where it touched the frame a full height (gave me more height) and weld the crap out of everything. I also put staps to the frame. Only thing I would add in the future is some kind of balljoint Pocket/protector...
In the last picture, it's not 100% completed... But I'm sure you get the point...

You'll need to do some trimming on the a-arm to prevent it hitting, and so it lines up.
