Got my trunk done the other day. Couldnt quite get it down enough to weld to the inner fender wells, but pretty happy with it. Might try to get another couple patches on the back of lid and still have to put all thread thru the lid. Thanks for sharing the tips and pictures guys! Attachments:

there are countless threads on this already.....ready the crown vics 101 along with the how to thread and im pretty sure theres a section just for setting up vic trunks.....and your rules will determine how you build/setup your trunk.

I used a three ton come a long and a chain ran from my seat bar over the trunk lid to the rearend. In hindsight I realized that I should have left bumper on so it didn't pull trunk in. Crank it down in the middle while beating the lid about 10 or so inches in from each side to help it make a nice curve. Then once it is mostly down I used an off road high lift jack between front lip of trunk and the roof to push down to the floor and weld patches on. I only managed to weld about a 20 inch area of the front lip before I stopped cause it was wanting to tear where my patches were on the sides. Also I had cut the underside of the lid where it slants down otherwise it won't curve very well. In addition I slid the lid forward about 3 inches so that it would land on the package tray instead of down in the spare tire area. Can try to post pics later, but can't seem to figure out how to from my phone

Also as mentioned earlier it helps to cut out the speaker deck and hinges.

easy n simple way. take a bumper jack to the back window. run one piece of all thread through the center of trunk. start to prebend with a sledge and start jacken. tighten allthread as ya go. took a half track from a suie and this is the outcome... not too shabby if i must say so myself. got hit so hard i lost my helmet and got 2 brain tumor's from it. want more info pm me. pretty simple n easy and seam's to work.

That is the best way to set up a bubble but if it is square i would notch tuck and fold trunk. But if your trying to hide steel than i would do it like travi 157. what do you mean hide steel?

the easiest way to make the rear last is to drive forward ;D DITTO, AS FOR THE FORDS OF TODAY, YOU CAN ALWAYS RECLIP THE FRONT FROM THE CRUSH BOXES FORWARD, BUT AS FOR THE REAR, NEVER SEEN ANYONE RECLIP THE REAR SECTION. GOTTA BE A LOT MORE WORK.

ok itll be my second derby car ive built and my first was a vic and it plowed dirt but im gonna run a welded class this year and im allowed to tuck v or wedge and I was thinking a wedge would be harder, I can weld the trunk solid with 3 inch wide 1/4 inch strap so should I weld all seams and then just start beating the trunk down with a sledge and should I beaat the quarters in while beating th top down or before I beat it down? and then when im done running 4 pieces of 3/4 inch allthread through or what would be the best way to do this?and id rather leave the package tray in but I can cut it out if I need to. thankyou
