Anybody know the part number for a ford 302 for the water pump with the output on the opposite side so i can run a chevy radiator? heard about this and im curious if its true? And what should i do about where the egr was on tbe back of the head? build a blockoff plate for it or just cut the lines and beat it over? Or just leave it?

Do not leave them open! You can make a block off plate or you can cut crimp the line and beat it over. That is what we do with our 460's and never had a problem in 12 years.

Ok just wondering my last engine i beat them over but i got a new engine this year and the hole was open so i was curious would there be any sense in making a plate and running a small pipe to connect them? would i gain anything heat wise, say cooler temps or just make a block off plate and leave it alone?

If the the piece that goes in the head is gone. Make a plate.

If you just want to block them off , just cut tha pipe off and flip them over and rebolt.. No need to make a plate .. Ya got one in ya hand.. If it were me though... I use tha factory plug like tha one in tha following link. www.store.partsdinosaur.com/product1521.htmlIts tha same plug that's in tha front of tha head.. Nice and clean !! As for that water pump speedway is probably gonna be your best bet.. Right here.. www.speedwaymotors.com/S-B-Ford-289-351W-Water-Pump-RH-Inlet,1817.html Or you can buy a water pump from any ford 302/289 1969 or older.. All 302's used a right hand inlet water pump thru 1969.. then they switched to tha drivers side.. If you use tha $2.00 plugs you won't have any issues like fordpower111 has in the above picture of making a cut-out in your rear plate. Those plugs are also available at napa , carquest and even tha ford dealer.. They screw in flush with tha head , and it is threaded inside too so you can bolt your rear plate to it also..

would there be a difference in blocks between a 79 351w out of a car and a 84 351w out of a truck?

No difference in tha 351W blocks... Heads yes , tha 84 has terriable heads. 1974 and back have better main journal's and caps. 1969 and 70 have a shorter deck height ( best production block in my opinion) The F4 (1994) roller block being a totally different block.. Best cost effective block if using a roller cam.

this may sound silly, but are the mounts on the right sides of the block? Meaning that-is the right side mount is on the right side of the block? It is also possible that the mount holes were cast into the block in a different spot. Ford has done this before, as I have 3 FE series blocks, all of different cubic inches, different years of casting, and from either old cars or trucks, and 2 of the blocks have completely different spots to bolt on motor mounts, while the 3rd block has both spots cast into the block for the motor mounts! Its a "universal" block i guess! lol I guess of theres room, drill a couple more holes to make it fit, if not, its steel, so weld on some more iron or make an adapter plate.

Sounds like you built a cradle for a 302 and are attempting to bolt it to a 351W or vise versa.. Which will not work.. Whats tha casting number of both blocks ? Number is near tha starter mounting area..
