Ok guys got a couple questions. I have a 95 legacy 5 speed that was awd the guy I bought it from has removed the rearend center section so I am gonna hold the rear driveshaft by bolting it solid thru the floor. I think that will make it front wheel drive. Main question is how are the fuel lines set up? I get the one into filter is pressure but which of the other two is return? Then what is the other hose for? Just a vent of some sort? Also what is any other weak points? I will be running against several very hard w body's just wanna hold my own and hopefully out drive them lol thanks guys

All you need to do is look at the lines 2 of them have slightly bigger lines and heavier clamps than the 3rd. Undo the 2 big lines and quickly turn key on then off watch for the one that spits fuel and where it was hooked up originally. The 3rd line can be left alone. Make sure your stock return lines gets plugged off with a taped bolt through it or something so you don't have fumes coming out into engine bay.

Figured i could help some of ya out.. I run a 95 impreza awd 5 speed. In front wheel drive with zero power loss issues successfully. The reason all the automatics work out is they have the Fwd fuse that cuts a solenoid stops fluid to the awd clutch pack making it engage front wheels only not rears. The standard cars are harder because from 92 to 05 they didn't have a clutch pack or solenoid therfore no fuse. They simply have a center differential in the rear housing of transmission that makes the ratio work for all wheelevels drive system, if you take the shaft out it cuts the gear ratio in half, which is why the power loss and clutch burns out. Sorry to run on forever but the fix is take the driveshaft out of transmission pull the 9 14mm bolts out of the rear transmission housing where shifter goes into case take out the double drift pin to remove the shifter linkage from Trans. Then split the rear cover off of trans, you'll have a main shaft that goes out the rear of trans and the center differential is right inside as well both of these are held in with one piece bearings set into the trans body. Pull out shaft and center diff (may have to pull hard or use pry bar) now you'll weld the spider gears inside of the center differential weld them to each other and the body of the differential. Now reassemble trans. (may need dead blow hammer to reset the bearings in so case fits back on). Now you can run front or rear wheel drive with full power and no slippage. *no it won't affect your steering they have a front differential inside the case deeper that does front wheels. I could always message some pics of how it's done and what not. If needed.

Here's afters of the car pictured above. It held up a lot better than I expected. I ran it the first night and took a kinda awkward hit to the right front wheel which shattered the CV so for the 2nd night i put the rear drive shaft back in and ran it rear wheel drive and used the front the entire time skinny peddle to the floor. The little 1.8 screamed the whole time and didn't seam to mind the heat at all. I had the coolant hoses looped and actually blew a hose tward the end and it still ran great. Won heat then used a different car in the feature. But I will be pulling this car out and running it again

Well the Impreza is officially done after pulling the front back down and adding a plate on each frame rail it ran in one more heat. The front nosed up again and the back got torn apart till one of the very rusty rear strut towers finely gave way and I lost a rear axle. Ended up 3rd, one spot out of the feature. So i know this thread is kinda dead but i'll ask anyway. I've got a Subaru Forester that im running in about a months time and just wondering if anyone has some tips on keeping it cool? i've pulled the thermo fans to give myself as much room as possible before stuff starts coming into the motor and don't want it to over heat and shut off. Any help is appreciated
