im still working on my subaru and i got some great advice on the motor but now im stuck on what to do the make it as hard as possible, what to do with the suspension, how to make the rear to bend up and out of the way, and how to make it not bow in the middle, should i use front wheel drive or rear wheel drive, and any other tips people know... i think any wagon tips would work....

Since Subaru comes up fairly often, and this thread kind of took off, it is now officially the Subaru thread and is in the locator.

How would you go about running FWD on a 1991 Legacy AWD 5-speed? from what I have gathered from various guys, removing the rear driveshaft completely will cause no power to the front wheels because the trans will "think" the rears are spinning. any ideas?

I believe there is a awd fuse that you need to pull to bypass that sensor. Not 100% sure though, we can run ours awd.

I have a 92 Subaru Legacy Wagon. Was just wondering what the strong points and weak points are with this car, it is my first Subaru build, as well as my first wagon build. Anyone have any tips on how to make it stronger?

So guys I'm helping a buddy build a car for his sons first derby. He's running a manual tranny mid 90's Subaru wagon. First Subaru I've ever tackled. So with what I've read so far what would be the best fwd or rwd? And what is the easiest way to go about it, I was just going to take out one of the driveshafts. What's these cars have a tendency of doing going up in the rear or down, front end stronger? Are the bumpers good or maybe a number swap? Any suggestions would extremely help. Thanks

I derbied a 92 Legacy Wagon last year, and have some ideas of what I may do this year to me 98 Legacy Outback Wagon as the snow in NY melts away. As for the drive shaft for the autos, I have been told that it can act as a brake for the CV shaft. Has anybody had any trouble with this and what can be done to resolve any drive shaft issues? I will be putting the AWD fuze in to make it FWD. Anybody else run one of these and have any tips? Anything will be great
