"rolled doors".....can someone give me tips on how this is done.i tried doing it like creasing, but when i hit it with my mini sledge, the door just blew out where the two pieces came together... Cut straight down both sides slightly, fold inside skin, in words and out side skin in words, weld together then crease away on the fold

Easier to lean in to fill gas tank and just holds skins of door together

I sort of have a theory about beating the skins down on certain cars..think of what a dimple does to a frame rail. wouldn't the door do the same thing on certain models that like to belly in front of the humps? ...or to be more particular, on unibodies... im not so much worried about full framed cars, it just seems like i see a lot compacts that have been beat down bend and belly all to hell in the rear doors...

My wife asked me if she could try doing my body creasing on one of my cars so I let her and she does it better than me and she likes doing it, so my wife has done it ever since she uses a ball peen hammer. my friend you have hit the lottery. Id be putting her to work! My little brother loves it. He does a pretty good job too. I just do the finishing touches behind him. I only spend about 15 minutes after he is done.

Easier to lean in to fill gas tank and just holds skins of door together couldnt i just run bolts through the tops of each door and get the same effect?or how does cutting each end of the door skins, like door rolling.but fold them completely in,and then just bolt that together?it would add an extra 2 layers of metal to the tops of the doors, without getting pinched for a no weld or add metal show.and could keep your door skins from ripping away or blowing in.

No, I don't think its just for fancy points. I know the purpose and it does help IMO, but I think it hurts on some models....sort of like wedging a metric or caddy, sure it may be tough on another car, but its liable to blow your humps all to hell and send your assend into the dirt on another. Or may I say its how you do it, I've seen skins cut, and folded flat instead of beat down essentially dimpling the body...if you are following what I'm saying.

if its this inside secret that has little benefit on some models like you said, and coild hurt others.i dont wanna gamble a car just to learnthat hard lesson...i might not even bother.not like im building mod show vic.

DONT CUT THE ENDS...... TAKE A PAIR OF CHANNEL LOCKS AND FOLD THE SMALL PIECE THAT STICKS UP ON THE INSIDE PANEL DOWN, AND THE PIECE THAT GOES DOWN ON THE OUTER SKIN UP. AND YES IF DONE CORRECTLY EVERY CAR BENEFITS FROM IT.

Folding the door down helps fat people like me get into compacts. That's the only reason I did mine lol

My opinion about beating the door down... On a two door car I think it will help the pillar from shoving forward. I can hit the door on my car with a sledge full bore and it laughs at the sledge. Don't think it's gonna bend down in the center personally. This door has the skins welded, then beat over and welded to the inner again uploading imagesAs far as the rest of the door goes hopefully those just scare off people lol!

So this might be a stupid question but do you weld the trunk shut before or after you crease the car?
