Do I have to run shocks in the rear of my 98 if I have the chains running through my coil springs going around the rear end and rear deck to hold it down? Is that makes sense to anyone

You dont "need" shocks and it wont hop without them if you get your chains tight.
Shocks are a little insurance if you shuck your chains though. Or all thread shocks like previously stated.

I am purchasing a 2000 or 2001 Lincoln Town Car to derby, was wondering how to build one of these, do I look under the Crown Vic sections even though this is not a Vic? Do I need to swap cradles? Any weak points with the a-arms or steering/suspension? Can I run a steering gear box from a 74 Caprice on this? Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!

yes look at the crown vic sections, they are the same car but the lincolns are a little longer. You do not need to swap cradles unless its an 03+. If you've ran an 80+ crown vic, the front suspension is somewhat weaker.

Week spot is the rear watts setup. BS arms mounted outside the frame on the humps. Hit up ztr or make your own conversion for 4 link.
Other than that, pretty much the same build style as the other bubbles, except a lot of goodies you will notice along the way about and in the frame.
Very tough cars
Good luck.

Can I run a 70's GM steering box in it? Does someone make an adapter plate for that? Also, how good would a 73 Impala rear bumper/shocks/brackets be on the rear of this car? Should I notch the rear frame? And how should I mount the front bumper, use the shocks? It will be a 74 or 76 Chevy bumper on the front. Do I shorten the frame in the front and if so how is this done?

The front end Frame just get a sawzall and cut rite in front of the core support mount make sure it's straight though .. then either take the stock shocks out them back in the frame flush with the end of the frame and weld your bumper rite to the end of the frame
