71 engine bay with my 350 oilpan/motormount mockup to show how it fits. I tried to keep the crossmember at the firewall intact but couldn't get the engine to fit over it and still clear the crossmember at the back of the torsionbars.

I cut the firewall cross out and will post some more pics as I go. Heres what the inside of the differential looks like-only one side accessible for welding but it gives lots of access to weld it up well.

Pulling the axles is easy-just remove the nut on the end of the axle and the whole axle can be pushed in if the tranny has been removed. I had to lower the torsion bars to make the angle straight enough for the axles to clear the lower a arm.

This the back view of the tranny. The rubber mounts break and I've been told one of the keys to keeping the frontwheel drive together is to weld it down back there as well as to get the engine mounted down solid and the cap over the 3 way constant velocity must be welded too.

Havent had much time on the rear wheel conversion This is the cross brace of the torsion bars, had to weld up some support so I can shave the bottom off for driveline clearance. also welded it to the floor bracing. Used heavy angle iron to make a cross brace for mounting the 350

I'm getting excited about this rear conversion. There are so many cross braces on the frame it should be tough-There is the core support, the oem engine x member, the fabbed up 350 x member, the firewall oem tranny crossmember, a fabbed up tranny crossmember that braces against the torsion bars, the torsion barcrossmember and floor bracing. The c channel is boxed and the steering comes with a u joint and the place for the extra body mount over the humps actually has a mount there.
The parts I don't like are the plastic inner fenders and the sharp s turns in the frame near the bumper. I havent decided if I'll stuff a shock in the frame to mount a bumper or use a bracket.-Just like all caddies, hardnosing it will make the bumper uncomfortable low imo but that's how I', leaning. The centerlink on the steering makes using a cradle difficult.

I think they may be weak in front of the a arms without some work but the engine is a high compression one if it works.

Would a 1970 Eldorado fall under same build as a 71+? Are they worth building for stock class?

Building a 77 elderado. I wanna use the nose and run hard with it. I'll weld the mounts and chain the motor tight. And change the upper joints to bolts. Any other input would be great.. Gonna weld the dif and stuff but I'm wondering if anyone has ever done real tricks to these. I don't want it to bend
