I wear a skirt? I have been doing figure 8s since 91. Seen all kinds of people come and go. Seen and driven stock to built cars and won with them all. So if you think I wear a skirt so be it. This year alone at a local track. 3 different people carried on stretchers. Life flight was called but was too far away so they took him by ambulance, guy spent a few days in the hospital. Cage got pushed completely out of his suburban. Another lady was knocked out and cut out of her car with jaws of life, stretcher to ambulance to hospital. Third guy same thing, neck or leg i cant remember. An actual death in a demo with overbuilt trucks this year. All 3 around here had one thing in common, heavy heavy Iron cars at full speed. Matter of time before someone gets killed. Better watch who you say wears a skirt too, some people dont like being insulted by people who dont know them.

all the good drivers are gone? who would those "good drivers" be? mike martin?.... honestly id say the welded class is more competative than ever, which can be a good thing and a bad thing i mean its somewhat exciting not knowing whos gonna win the next race and whos going to outdrive who but at the risk of more injuries, me personally im going to stay in wire class i had a hell of alot of fun this year and spent far less money in my oppinion wire class is better that outlaw the only thing i dislike is the lower payout because i feel like the payout should be as good as or better than the welded class that opens up other things like how would it get payed for, more entries?, more sponsors? not sure but i know fans like to see cars get torn up and they love the wire class, with that being said i also think that welded cars will die soon so id be worried about the welded class lasting for 5 years before you worry about your car lasting that long

I would disagree totally. 10 years ago you had 15 different drivers who you would know was in the feature on every night in every track. no hitting no cheap shots and no injuries at all. now you have 16 cars in the feature with 4 who stand a chance of winning. not by out driving but by having the car that hits and knocks out the other cars. years ago all cars drove off and a broken axle was extremely rare. i didnt break an axle for 7 years with a c clip chevy. now with these overbuilt montes no ordinary car stands a chance. I wouldnt drive a car that i drove in 1995 in this build class for any amount of money. We used to get out of our cars after the feature to see if your body was torn off. Now those people get out to maybe see if a tire is down. Wire is the future, period.

people are gonna die because of hard cars? well a start would be if they wore proper safety equipment and took the time to build a cage that could protect them. Hell half the people dont wear seat belts they bring it on themselves... but i do agree wire cars are the way to go

I love running both shows, crowds differ some like seeing crap bend some like seeing crap hit like hammer heads.. one thing is always a common denominator.. hitting, everyone wants to see hitting, .. wire class is now formed as a "poor mans hand" but its gonna slowly get out of control i am sure, rules will be getting bent, inspections will be getting less and next thing you know you have a stock generic vs a frame plated, good bumpered, cradled racing motor, slider driven bullet proofed rear setup, "race" car.. hell just this fall a wagon snuck in the local wire class 8er that was hardly a wire car.. it was almost uncrushable .. during the wire class inspection they checked my battery, shook my fuel tank and painted a dot on my roof, .. (hearing rumors) i made the comment.. I hope they dont have to many cars show up because i didnt bring extra fuel, spare tires, or anything,(advertised as a 1 heat run) .. the inspector said . we will have at least 4 heats for sure.. i said . for wire class?? the inspector than said.. oh, your running the wire class, i dont know how many of these cars we will see.. I just dont get it, but i do know this, i would have changed a lot of things if i would have known that sort of inspection was gonna happen, hump plate, all thread mounts and definately a good bumper not the stock 1981 caprice bull crap, ... either way, i have both sitting in the weeds... a 8000lb tank, and a shit box generic 80s chevy.. gonna try to call it quits(again) after those and just play with a rat rod.. welp, i gotta go put on my skirt and wait for what m16 has to say about me..

That crap doesnt get through in the wire derby classes, figure 8's are a little less strict. Teel you should have plenty of time this winter to work on cars.
