Bought two edsels yesterday. Both are 1958s I was going to restore one and use the other for parts. Thinking of derbying after wards. What do you guys think, is it worth it? I have a few 70s Chrysler's and a few 80s fords.

And I know they are classics, I own a couple hot rods already. The parts car has no title and has been in a bull pin on concrete for god knows how long. Already kind of looks like its been in a derby LOL!!

Mid-size car. If it has a V-8 in it, it's most likely a 221 or 260. If you've run a bunch of derbies, and have very generous rules, you might do OK. But I'd pass on it myself. Steve If it has a decent engine, it could be worth some money to somebody who wants to restore it. The 221's will probably be in the earlier 63's, 260's in quite a few of them, and then 289's were put in some of the later 63's. I'd strip it out and sell some parts off of it, but wouldn't put it in a fullsize derby.

just picked up a 64 ford, how important is it to fix lower quarter rust in these with a full frame and being able to weld the trunk lid shut, with all-thread running through two mounts behind rear tires.

I dont think it matters too much. I like to bend the quarters under and bolt through the floor pan. Keeps it out of the tires

I would definitely fix it...... doesnt take much to rip the taillight panel away from the trunk floor and with rusty quarters it will be to the allthread quick which then makes the back a mess. For the 30 minutes it takes to fix quarters why not do if it you dont mind me asking.

is a 63 mercury monterey worth the build? Probably can get away with a decent amount minus just straight up plating a frame. Just curious if itd be worth the pain and hassle to build and put a sbc in it as compared to running a 98-02 ford or old iron gm.

If you put the time into building it, these will trash newstyles and 70's gm's.
