VATS System ByPass: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKfn7J9CeZMI don`t think this works for Passlock, which includes Sunfires/Cavaliers. VATS is used on the older (Mid 90's) GM's. Hope it works out for everyone!

Sent from my DROID RAZR Did you happen to pull any fuses from the panel that prevent it from running? Happened to me a couple times with a malibu and grand am this past summer. I like to pull fuses that are not needed. Both times I ended up pulling fuses like that dash lights that I thought were not needed. Just a thought.

I have a buddy that has a 97 cavalier ... He took the cluster off with intentions of putting it back on after the dash was out, but when he unplugged one plug it broke on the cluster itself... Any way to by pass the theft completely on this car.... It is not a chipped key car... Need help Derby on the 29th

when having trouble starting some gms if you have a chipped key just measure the resisance from one side of chip to other and thats the size of resister you need to wire into the orange wire under the dash. common on buick lesabres and such. then any key will work that turns the ignition. and like said above most dash pods have to be plugged in!

I dont think so. Just turn your ignition on and jump the starter terminals with a screw driver, "old school style" if the car starts and runs then just run a hot wire to the starter signal terminal and touch it to the possitive terminal on your battery to start your car. If the car doesnt run you have an issue. If the car doesnt turn over you have a dead battery, bad ground, or a bad starter.

Also sounds like you may have cut a ground wire, another thing to check. Had one of those grounds in the tailight area screw with me before. could be as simple as a fuse also.

Hey guys there is anyway to get a sunfire running without cluster ? Few weeks ago I ran a cavalier and it didn't have the closter and ran fine, but also the cavalier didn't have the 3 wires going to the ignition for the passlock. The cluster is in the dump so I hope I can find a way to run it without the cluster I need help asap Thanks guys

Another thing for the Vat's elimination. If your car is equipped with remote start, the correct resistor is in the remote start box. Thought I'd pass that along.

I am having the same symptoms with my 98 sunfire. I tried the key tuned on for 10 then off for 30 seconds and no luck but will start each time ignition is reset. Cluster has not been taken out or unplugged and just started doing this after I relocated the computer to the air filter box position and did away with the box. Other than that I unplugged return resivor plug and passenger side brake boot. Mass airflow sensor I am guessing that I unplugged off the air intake hose I reconnected thinking that was the problem and still no luck. I'm going to try it one more time and let you guys know what happens

Never mind. Cluster lit up and tried it again and it worked. Third time is a charm I guess
