85 psi !? That's just dangerous your asking that to blow in your face unless tire is rated for that psi wouldn't catch me dead doing that...ex tire'guy here

Y would you put a 20" tube in there :-/it would crease like a bastard good way to pinch it or crease it so bad would cause a leak ...Plus there's no advantage to have that much air any ways

lots of years running between 75 and 85 depending on plys, but with doulbleing tires up it makes them hard as hell. we don't get many flats if they are fresh tubes. after a while we start backin them down a bit. trust me, been doin it this way for about 15 years.

If you can't shoot it, derby it, sleep with it or eat it, you don't need it

what is the size of tire you would use for going on the inside of a 25 8.50 14 if doubling it? thanks I just did 4 of them today and used 175 65 14. They went in pretty easy and fit pretty nice. I also used a 185 70 14 but it had hardly any tread left on it and it was harder to get in.

For the guys b!tching about tire pressure your doubling tire thickness so 85 to 95 psi isn't that much. besides you what that thing as hard as you can get it.

a bigger pry bar/tire iron, lots of water and soap and it also helps to push down on the opposite size of the tire your trying to get the bead on.

Should the inner tire not line up and be even with the outter tires bead(in a perfect world) Now i have never tried this ..... YET ...... but i am looking into possibly doing it some time soon... Seems like the info so far on this thread seems rather helpful
