One thing for sure, don't try and drive on the road, at high speed on them. Had a friend that thought it would be cool to use his new derby tires to drive home, on the freeway. Ruinded about $400.00 worth of tires, back in the 80's.

Just stuffed two 7.00x15's tonight with 195-65-15. Tight fit. Seems to balloon the sidewalls just a tad. But then again im using a 7.5" rim.

Anybody ever have a problem doubling a tire that was too large to fit inside? I just put a 225/75 into a 235/75 and the 225 can't expand inside the 235. If I put it on a rim and air it up, will it turn out alright, or is the tire just too tall to fit? The tread on the 225 was basically brand new, maybe if I just mount it up and burn off some excess rubber it will work better.

Have always been told to go 2 sizes too small. Have heard of people going 1 but they have all said it's a pain in the ass. I would just try to get rid of all the tread on the 225. No need for it.

You have to look for sizing of tire and tread wear the 225 needs to be bald or go to a 205. My brother and i have put 2 tires inside a tire before it was a pain in the butt but we did it. We take the tire that is going inside the other tire stand it up like it would be on the car. Then take your knee or foot and put it on top of the tire and push down as hard as you can until the top of the bead and the bottom of the bead touch. Keep pushing down and get tire as flat as you can and have a buddy wrap some wire around the tire in the middle where you are holding it at and tie it while you holding it down. then take the folded tire which should look like a smashed figure 8 and insert it into the center of the other tire start working it in. Once you have both ends inside the other tire work one end in as far as you can in the tire hold it and have your buddy undo the wire. Once wire is untied work the tire the rest of the way in and you will have a tire inside a tire. A little tip for putting in the tube. Get a trash bag and put baby powder in it, don't be shy with the baby powder. Then take the tube put it inside the bag and shake the hell out of it, make sure the tube is completely covered in baby powder. Then start putting tube in the tire. The powder lets the tube slide inside the tire so it doesn't pinch air it up and you have a doubled up tire that is hard as a rock!

For Regular car tires, we have always stuffed 225's into 235's all 15's then put in a tube, and inflate to 85psi. Have had great luck with this in fact we still have some tires that we stuffed ten years ago still going strong.
