those frames look closer to a galaxie where the newer ones are just a straight rail with a coil over, strut rod set up. I got one going to the TBTC show and ill snap some photos in a day or two.

Wats the ideal year for the t bird i know where several are. and how is these on steering parts. do you have to change them like suicides. and hardnose front or use a bop bumper bracket or long chrysler shocks?

Here is what I have learned from the galaxy and what I have seen from T-birds, you need to keep the front wheels on the car. They need alot of focus of they like to lay over. If you have the frame that dips, I would guess you mount the shock like a galaxy to compensate for the dip, I would use the long shock off the back off one of the GM products, drawing a blank on it right now. Or there's a picture of a galaxy on here with a 70s ford truck bracket mounted with a pointy on it. I don't know much about the straight ones, just using my knowledge of galaxies to try and answer about the ones that have a dip.

I believe that most will say the 61-66 is best. I will be testing some things on my 64 t bird this year. You cant hardnose them, i looked at mine and the core support is welded on in front of the frame and number 2 is the core support is angled downward at about a 25ish deg angle. So your bumper would point down pretty good. So brackets/shocks on the side of the frame is about the only way. I might make a build thread in mine when sunmer rolls around. I intend to make the front if this car bend before i scrap it.

Well try though. have to cut some inner fender away to make it work and relocate the uppers. Anyway you slice it, it will have some juice!

I have a chance to pick up a 60 Bird. How important are the rear trunk floor and the frame rails? The leaf spring mounts broke and they are up through the floor. The frame has some holes, but you could probably patch them. Because, by my understanding you weld up a pointy up front and nose all night.

Sent from my SCH-R760 using proboards You could weld 2 pointys up front but all it takes is one good hit into the back of your rotbox and you're night is over. Just because a car is a noser doesn't mean just say f-it and forget about the rear. Personally, I like to take a quick look at my competition's cars before I enter the arena with them and if I see a car with rotted trunk floors/frames/leaf mounts guess where I'm aiming... Just because you don't plan on using the back of the car offensively, doesnt mean you shouldn't build the rear for defense. IMO the way you're describing this car I'd buy it, part it out, and crush it and make some $, 58-60 are worth quite a bit to collectors and they're always looking for parts...

It was only $500. As a stripped out shell. There's no money for me to make off it. I guess it'll just sit and rot with that owner. Thanks for the reply.
