I run a 2"x6" quarter inch think spec bumper with an s10 bumper skin on it. Seems to be light enough for compacts. yet stiff enough to do plenty of damage.
If you take the k member mounts out and suck the k member up with all thread, pretty much any bumper will be fine. run some homemade bumper shocks on the outside of the frame. make them as long as your rules allow. Hardnose it as well to keep the bumper from rolling up.

Take the rubber pucks out from in-between the k frame and core support and suck it down tight with all thread Can anybody put pics on here or explain it in more detail?

It is the same concept as removing body mounts in a full size. These cars have an iron sub frame under the front that is bolted to the unibody frame. These spots have rubber pucks, or body mount bushings in between the frame and the subframe. The object is to unbolt the subfame, eliminate those pucks, and re-bolt using large washers. Then weld the subfame to the fame, if your rules allow.
Is that any clearer, or just worse?

I have a fairly hard bumper (flat style impala) on the front of mine, would it handle this bumper better if I all thread these together?

Alot of difference......for awhile. Enough difference to be worth the time?

Absolutely worth the time. After you have done it a couple times, it will only take a few minutes.

Absolutely worth the time. After you have done it a couple times, it will only take a few minutes. Last night I tried to get the bolts out, I only tried the driver side and I couldn't get it out. It's stuck. I will try the impact wrench this weekend.
