Im kinda embarrassed by the win really...first hit broke my steering and i could only go in circles...the last two cars got hung up right by me and i made a hit and that was the end...but my frame did get bent strait back and it sure trashed my good mustang bumper...il get pics after i get my stuff all sorted this morning but not gonna lie it doesnt look hurt at all.

It didnt exactly break.. my lower control arm got bet and the passanger side tire kept hanging up inside the wheel well. I have broken tie rods on mustangs and pintos before though.

I like the bumpers...if you burn the plastic off they look just like a pinto bumper but i think i shortened my front end to much by moving the brackets back all the way...pretty sure it put undue stress on the frame in a wierd spot...

I always move the brackets all the way back no problems. You shortened the frame like a fox body

Has anyone ever put a V8 in one of these? I have never built a compact, but I will be building one this spring for a compact team derby and I had a few ideas, but I dont know if they would work or not, so any help would be appreciated.\ 1. Is it possibble to stuff a Chevy engine with cradle into one of these things? 2. I want to run it low and "U" the back end like the vics are being built, is that a good idea? 3. Should I run a gas tank protector? 4. Would a 80s vic front bumper be too hard to hard nose to the front of one of these? 5. How hard is it to get the front end up?
Ill probably have more questions as I start building, but these are my starters. Thanks in advance.

MY OPINION is too hard of a bumper makes the frame take the abuse, id rather run the stock bumper seam welded for a derby or 2 and cut it off and put another stock one on it. my 2 cents... also, i had a hatch, ran 7 leafs with 6 clamps per side and chained it down like you'd do a pinto. bolt the subframe up thru the floor with decent size washers.
