im building a 79 lincoln town car, i am allowed to swap rearends and weld bumpers and mounts solid. running sbc/turbo 400 power plant, any and all tips or tricks will be very helpfull. a 79 TC is NOT like a crown vick,, totally different car,,, you have a 28 spline 9" rear in it,,,with the single upper arm.. If your a chevy guy,,, swap in a GM axle,, make new upper arm mounts for it,,, hard nose the bumpers on.. shorten the back frame,,

I don't know your rules but this is what i would do. Front bumper, Take skin off shove a 4x6 square tubing in it with concrete inside weld back together. Bumper shocks, scrap the fake i beam replace it with a real piece of 3" i beam shove it back in the box and weld or bolt it to the frame. Then weld the i beam to bumper. Weld top frame seams A-arms forward. Weld a-arms to frame. Keep engine in original position don't push back to firewall. Do not tilt. Big heavy cage. Then weld weld weld. Crease everything. The trunk your guess is as good as mine do whatever u want. I would try to keep driving forward. U could v it or tuck it or leave it and just weld it up. I will pm u with help for the cross member.

If they don't check your car than then stuff the entire frame and make some kickers and lined body with steel. ;D

I know these aren't considered he crown jewel of the Lincoln's, but when it's free and nearly %100 clean, I couldn't pass it up. So here's the deal. I plan on running it In a limited weld show. www.newalexlions.com/ go there and lick on tribute to classics menu to see basic rule layout. Now on top of those rules, I have been in contact with the head official because we had rumors floating around that they weren't going to really nitpick the cars much but leave it amounts all the driver to decide what will go through ad what won't. He is allowing me to run kickers From the dash to the front frame but may have to cut them if other drivers complain. i can also box in the rear frame if I want. My question is where should I press the grey area like include crush box area with the rest of the front and so on. I wll be running a ford 302 with fmx and 4.33 gears in nine inch. Any pics and info would be great. Also most of the other cars will most Likely be clean built round backs and maybe a few oddball cars

the frame seams like to split going down to the crush box,,,, so you know what to do there,,,
extra body bolts,,, hard nosed bumpers,,, shorten the front..
the back is not strong,,, make sure it goes up...
build a good cage,,,
302,, huh ?,,,,, if its from a vick,, your gonna need a different oil pan,,,

I had planned on boxing in rear frame and extending the weld over the humps also how hard are these to leaf as the rear end I'm using is a truck rear with a brace and 80's four link setup. Also there's no other way to run stock Vic pan in this the engine is only one I got and has plenty of oomph to push with the gears run. Thanks agian

yeah a leaf job is good,,,
to fit a 302 in it, you will need a front sump oil pan and pump pick up,, also small block motor mounts from a 70s ford,,
might have to move the trans cross member,,,
