I would think it would be a c6. Does the bell housing bolt on? If so then c4 if 1 piece then c6 with bolt on tail.

if you cant hardnose ditch the brackets..... cut the frame off in the front a little in front of the core support and run the chevy bumper shocks into the frame, then weld the bumper to that

666, can't do that in this derby. has to have stock frame end in place" I used that method on the 74 mark i am using later in the year. Looks stout LOL. That ford bumper is heavy, it just doesn't look too stout.

for your rules this set up would probably be your best bet to keep the horns straight
use the stock shock boxes with the flimsy I-beams... cut off flush with the box and the bumper mount plate. I then take the driver side box, flip it upside down, and then weld it to the INSIDE of the passenger side frame horn so that it is up against the frame crossmember that runs underneath the lower radiator support. Do the same with the shock box from the passenger side and mount it to the INSIDE of the driver side frame horn. After they are welded solid to the frame horns, I then weld on the bumper mount plates to the shock boxes and frame horns. (tacking the bumper mount plates in place to the shock boxes/frame horns and then holding the bumper up to them will give you an idea of how high the bumper will be when welded on the car. If its not to your liking, then knock em off and re-adjust accordingly) Then comes the welding of the bumper to the frame/shock boxes.

Here are the bumper rules, i'll need to check on the way you said, sounds good. Have to see if it will fly LOL
Bumpers
1 - Any year OEM car bumper is permitted. You may cut or bend bumper ends for clearance. Bumper brackets may be rebolted. 2 - You may weld bumpers to bumper shocks and shocks to brackets. You may weld bumpers to brackets for non-shock applications. You may swap bumper brackets from car to car. Brackets must be used in their STOCK manor, and may not be altered in any way! Bumper brackets may only be welded to the first 6 inches of frame. NO additional metal may be used. You may weld bumpers directly to the frame. However, if you choose this option, you may not have a bumper shock or bracket in or on the frame.

with the rules you just posted .... to me it looks like you can hard nose............ almost any car will have to cut some frame off in the front to make it flush to hardnose
I would shorten and hardnose....... them rules are asinineif they wont let you cut a couple inches off to hardnose

You got a picture of the backing of that Duster bumper? If it's like the Fury bumpers it might be the best choice you have.

Ok, this was the biggest thread I could find that had anything to do with these cars. I will rename it and add it to the locator.
Every full size car I have run thus far has been a GM. This was a freebie, and is super clean, except for the back bumper. Is a 77 LTD 4 door. Looking for all kinds of tips, front, rear, steering/suspension, etc. Should I fix the 400, or drop in a 302?

id ditch the boat anchor 400 and drop the 302 in it. Same concept as mounting bumpers on the midsize 70s fords..... I put a few pics and ideas in there. What kind of show you running it at C4 ??
