Just picked up a 73 boat tail, first GM build, the front bumper is a pointy bumper boxed in with bumper shocks, I think it would be tough leaving it but what do you think? Any thing else I should do or try ? Was gonna notch frame in rear maybe in two spots hopefully to roll any suggestions is helpful,

I picked up a 71. Havent built it yet but all the research I have done points to having a halo and tying the roof to it. These cars are hard in the front but the roof bends forward at the rear pillars. The roof connected to a halo helps that. I would notch and drive forward. Protect the ass after it bends up a bit.

I wouldn't notch the rearend, maybe prebend the c-channel a little bit with a crescent wrench, and prebending a little sheet metal.

Would U ran a Pointy on the front of another boat tail or are they to much for the front?

I'd run another pointy on a boattail all day long. You can make them last a long time with smart shots and the way you set your motor in the car.
I used this front end not all the intelligently and it held up decent I think for what I was doing with it.

so what would be the benefits in running the roll bar underneath the roof/inside the car, versus on the outside? as long as the roof is welded to the roll bar, i dont see inside having any more benefit?
also thinking about the rear of the car...i can get away with boxing in the rear where it is c-channel factory. i like the idea of building the back similar to a vic, with a deep canoe, cut the speaker deck out, etc. no hump plates, and can use any seam welded bumper and bracket/shocks. do yall think a 77ish LTD flat back bumper would work ok on the rear with this setup? the back would be double notched similar to 74-76 GMs... any input is greatly appreciate. thanks in advance...
