Purchased an Eagle through an auction for 265 to benefit a local drivers brother. Things worth a lot more than I paid.

Yeah, any money I win goes in the pot for buying the next year's cars. that's why I try to win as much as possible. I can still could afford to derby even if I never get paid again, but it's much cheaper this way. All I'm getting at.

i collect scrap steel and that is how i pay for all my derby cars, parts, entrie fees. I think 80% of derby guys are doing that as well, myself included.

Just a personal thing. I can't justify to myself, a hobby that doesn't pay for itself plus some.

Getting more cordless tools, switching over from the craftsmen 19.2 stuff. After buying a single drill and liking it, very much, stepped up to another drill and 1/4" impact driver, plus a pair of the monster 4/ah batteries. Drills seem very torquey, used the first drill a lot to finish up the last build. Planning on adding a sawzall and 1/2" impact in the near future soon.
