I have a police R body and have some questions. I was pre-bending the left rear quarter panel and the bondo in the antenna hole popped out...ha ha ha.... 1. Where are the 14 reinforcements and gussets on the frame and floorboards? I found a couple on the front frame, but still looking for the rest. I even have a stock one to compare too... 2. Do the 9.25 rearends have any value? From what I understand, they are bolt ins with 3.23 gears 3. I have to go back and look, but I assume these might have extra metal in the rear frame?!?!? This webpage has some good data: www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/R-bodies.htmlThe website reads: "Police versions of the St. Regis (coded A38) got more galvanized steel and anti-rust treatments, ............
Police brakes were heavier duty, with the front discs having semi-metallic brake pads, and larger rear drum brakes (11 x 2.5).........
Fourteen welding reinforcements were added to the front subframe assembly, along with extra reinforcements to the underside of the body floor pan. High speed radial tires with fabric belts were standard in 1980, along with a rear anti-sway bar........"Any insight will be appreciated. thanks, Shawn

The 8.25" & 9.25" that where offered in this year of car are both c-clip rearends. The rest of the police car special options I don't know much about. I thought I read somewhere that the st. Regis models had reinforcement in the rear humps. But, I could be wrong.

I think you are right, they are just C-clip....but it is a sure-grip.
Still, any value?

what is a good height to set the back of a doba at if its gonna be wedged? it has a pack of 7 leafs under it right now, its sitting at 30 to the bottom of bumper which i know is way to high. I run my shockers pretty low but have never ran a wedged car so just wondering how far down I should chain a double frame doba almost need a step ladder to get into it right now

The worst part about sucking them down real tight is you tend to get a lot of wheel hop which isn't ever a good scenario. I sit them lower in the back than the front. I want to say about 22 inches to the bottom of the bumper. Wedged or not I think you'll want it in that general area.

22 sounds about right but I'd set it right under your maximum height in the rules. I'd set it low enough everyones front bumper would clear it so it wouldn't smash my frame.

No height rules in the team derby I would set it a few inches lower than your front bumper, and whenever the back comes up pretty good set it as low as you can comfortably IMO

Both these cars had the Double hump... and I used them and they never moved. IMO I think less stress on the frame the better. I will never run a rear bumper again. Plus people like buying them turd backs so I don't mind selling them I lose the rear shocks also.

A utah based non profit company that helps the familys of fallen inforcement officers and firefighters and all public servants. One of my best friends was a sheriff that was killed in the line of duty. So I dedicated my car to him.
