79 and older are the best dobas all the same but i like the 78 79 front bumpers better for a doba bumper....but would still go with a shocker bumper on front.

We run both mopar pointys and the newport/newyorker flats on the front. Both have treated us well with top 3 finishes and feature wins recently.
Kinda depends on the rules to witch one we put on.
Weld - pointy
stock - flat
IMO

1979 st. Regis
has anyone ever attempted to rotate the rear torsion bar mount on these so the hump is against the floor board and using chain to create a sling for transmission mount?
The last two r bodies ive ran ive snapped tailshaft housings off of a 727 tranny. Im planning on running gm drivetrain in this one. With 9 inch rearend.
Any thoughts/ideas/opinions would be great

I'm getting myself a 76 Charger. The quarters are gone, but I figured that I'd have fun with it in a stock show. It'll be first show. I have ideas for the azz, but I'll have to see if they'll comply with the rules. The front, is the only downfall bellying and the front bumper? Also, what rear is under these?

someone asked in a separate thread about swapping small blocks and big blocks-
The same discussion exists on page 7 in the 74-78 shocker tips thread and most of the same conditions apply. Big and small block drivetrains have the trans mount in the same place but the engine mounts are further towards the rear of the car by an inch or two on big block cars.... this is because of the external oil pump on the big blocks; they had to shift the mounts back a bit. You can drop a small block engine into a big block chassis but it will likewise sit closer to the firewall, which may create some fitment issues with the firewall, steering crosslink, trans mount, and driveshaft length. It can all be overcome with some fabrication work.
You also have the option to swap out the entire K frame on a B/R body car.... the big and small block K frames are interchangeable, only held in by those four 5/8" bolts.
