I have a 81 New Yorker that I ran the pinch frame is junk from the fire wall to the front bumper can it all be cut out and slap a y frame under it the car is still good it's just to rusted and bent and my rules say Chrysler on Chrysler and all I have is a y frame that has been built out of a 66 new Yorker

Just from what I’ve been reading seems like that’s the big thing to do . Also another question: should I notch and pre bend the rear? I’ve been told from a guy that runs this kind of car , that the rear goes up easy and he wouldn’t suggest it . 1980 New Yorker

Nothing needs to be done to the rear of these other than wire or weld trunk per rules and beat the quarters and trunk down to make the azz nice and square

I tuck the trunk and square the quarters off.

Every mopar i run I tuck it long not even half of the lid and make one slice just behind leaf hanger. Just a slice straight across. Different stroke for different folks. I build my mopar rears for defense only. Purely built to roll and not be stiff

Does a t top pinch frame have extra bracing in the floors? Not that I'm aware of from the factory.

Frame rails on the inner side of engine compartment at the fire wall. Remove bumper shocks and stretch them as far to the a arms as you can. I put mine on top of the frame and weld bumper 3/4 on frame and 1/4 on bumper shock. Gives you a bit more bumper height and saves on the firewall a little by moving the pressure forward a bit. Leaf springs. Add more if you can. If not pull it down just past level. Chain the humps tight and clamp the leafs at every new leaf as much as you can using good clamps and good bolts. They aren't great cars but they have pretty darn good stock front and rear bumpers
