I have done both coldbending at the crossmember and tilting at the box and prefer the box way. This actually makes the frame straight from front to hump if done correctly. JMO I agree. Around here though most shows don't allow us to tilt at the boxes.

What? If the boxes are pushed back that has to be addressed first correct. Pull the the frame rails back out and get better penetration on the welding part of it. I have never had the rails push thru the boxes. If you are having this problem then you are incorrectly tilting the front end. Why would you tilt at the front side or the back side? Maybe I'm missing something here.

ok well the rails arnt pushing into the box they are bending right behind the box but push straight back idk what the deal is ran 3 cars pitched in different spots and all 3 did this the car in pick was cut at the tabs that connect front fraim rails to the box then re welded and the other two were cut ant back side of box were the middle frame rails connect so the box and everything was tilted. i dont have any picks of boxes or i would post to show what im saying. the car i have under the knife right know i just put body back on but might have to pull it off again if i do i will take pis and post up here

Its going to push back. A majority of the tilted cars I have seen push back before they bend up. The reason being is thats where the stress is. With the frame stock it will push it up more because of the factory upward angle. With it tilted that angle is gone and it has to bend somewhere.. What I would do is run a dp if allowed, and run small tires on the front so when it pushes back it will have more room before the tires hit.

About how big of spacers do you have up front? I have mine 5 1/2 inches is where it sits level. I bolted the clip in and measured from there.

I can tilt one at the boxes in about 25 minutes. And it holds up in more than 2 derbies.
