i have a 94 LT 2nd gen 350.. it has the throttle body on the intake. what would be my chances of putting a carb in it's place and getting away with it?

A tbi truck 350 is not hard to convert. An LT1 on the other hand is another story.

LT1s are not a very easy conversion. Are you wanting to switch everything over on it?
They dont have a traditional distributor that runs through the intake, its on the front of the motor by the water pump. Im not sure if the block even has a hole for the distributor to run down to the oil pump like the old ones do.
In return, the cam does not have a distributor gear on it from the factory, nor will any LT1 specific after market cams.
There's many other things that make the LT1s poor derby motor candidates.

The block is different all together. The intake had no water ports, water pump isn't the same as old style. I wouldn't even think about it.

There's nothing wrong with them. They can be made into pretty decent derby motors.
Just stay away from the LT1 motors for derby purposes.
On that motor you have, if you're wanting to run a mechanical fuel pump, make sure it has the hole for the pump rod. Since its at the machine shop they can drill one if it needs it.

i got all the accessories for the front, just gonna be fan, powersteering pump and harmonic ballancer and alt. and im gonna run a electric fulepump on it but it has a cover with the rod for the mechanical but the cam dosent have a mechanical fulepump lobe so electric is the way i gotta go... what's the closest carb id be able to find for this stock intake? anyone know and was told to run evac tubes on it. are they really that good? i know they help with heat in the crank case but what else? or should i fool with it? got a nice new tall set of DEC headers for it and can weld evac tube's in em no prob.

there's an adapter to go from tbi to carb. look at summit or speed way motors. don't need evac system.

I've seen those adapters, never used em. Just did a carb swap on my buddies TBI for his truck. I just had him get an intake for the center line heads and an HEI distributor.
On a side note, I have an adjustable Mallory fuel pressure regulator with a return and gauge left over from that swap if you need one. He went to a manual pump.
