If you only had a total of 24" s 12 inches to a side to weld on a bumper, shocks, and shock mounts how would use it to get the bumper on best.
I can use all factory bolt holes to bolt with, so I'm going to use as many bolts as I can.
Where would you concentrate on your welds and why?
Thanks

i'm assuming you mean front bumper. what year and model car, so I know what mounts we are talking about. Cause how i'd do it to a 74-76 impala/caprice is different from how I'd do a 74-76 BOP.

Sorry I guess I should have been a little more specific. Yes front bumper. Going on a 74 Pontiac Catalina and using the factory shock mounts. Thanks Bart 2525

Have you considered hard nosing the bumper to the frame?

With a 74 Pontiac I'd be with Schober on the is one, hardnosing is the best option as the factory shock mounts are pretty much garbage without added shock tower strength or reinforcement. Are you filling in the frame hole up front or do the rules not allow it?

Can you get away with hardnosing and putting the shock towers inside the frame? This will somewhat help shore up that frame hole issue.

Pretty much the same car as a 225, or an olds 88, just a different body style slightly. Treat it like any other 74-76 BOP fullsize.

I don't mind to help you with specific questions. I.E. what is the best gear to run with this engine set up? Should I notch, tuck, prebend, etc the rear on this type of car? What is your opinion of the bumper and shock horns? But I don't post pictures for anyone, so don't take offense. It's just not how I do business.

Ok. That is fine and I understand and respect that. So I guess that we could start with opinion on bumpers. I am interested in hard nosing but not really sure exactly how to do it. So if you could explain a little more in depth.

Some guys leave them on personally i would chop em off all it does is take someone to bounce there front off the ground and get there sway bar between that extra piece and there hooked unless your bumper breaks off. Just a scenario.
