awesome detail job so far and dont take this wrong way but i have had problems with shifter lingage hitting on floor with smaller clearence holes like that before..i think it was due to a tranny mount breaking or motor mount but cant remember all i remember was it was the difference of 1st and 2nd place backed up against wall. so please cut them holes alot bigger

Do you paint the interior of the car white for any reason. I heard tell once of an ingenious lad who painted the interiors of his car a light color so, in the event something silly happened (battery cable came off, wiring problem in the car) with the wiring, he could see better inside the car (white reflects more stadium and ambient light than either no paint or a darker color)...

Thanks for the comments guys!
On the parking brake honestly we should probably remove them, if not we will pad them up.
The rules at our derby are pretty silly in regards to holes in floorboard's and firewalls; this is the biggest reason for not passing tech.
We paint the interiors of the cars white mainly for looks but I can say it does make it much more visible in the car at night in my opinion.
As far as dollar figure goes not real sure, more than anyone should spend on a derby probably, however we have a lot of really great sponsors the has made it all possible. I think the last sponsor count was 16.
Thanks again for the comments and advice. ;D
Stay tuned.....

This is one of the coolest build threads I have seen but I got to ask why are you doing things like Re-upholstering the seat, painting the interior and degreasing the engine bay? Seems almost like a restoration project rather than a derby project. No offense really I think it looks awesome but why all the extra work?

When we are slaving away in the shop we ask ourselves the same question, LOL. It is kind of a lengthy answer but in short every time we build a new car we kind of try to up the ante. A lot of stuff has been sponsored or we would not have done it, like the upholstery.
