I gotta say, in 14 years of compact derby, as a fwd hater, that Accord is the only front wheel drive that has ever thoroughly impressed me. I would take another one over a W body any day of the week. People laugh at me when I say I'll run my Hondas against W-Bodies any day, glad I'm not the only one. I don't think I will ever derby a Honda or Toyota. Scrap here dropped to $175 a ton. Prices on Honda and Toyota cars dropped to $400 a ton. Before the drop they were bringing $800 a car. Send them my way. Not too far of a drive for a clean Honda.

Technically, they are 2 inches too big to be compacts here, but they look small enough that nobody has questioned it. I've only seen one other Accord run out this way. It was my uncle's. It served him quite well, but I just attributed that to the stuffed frame, and his amazing bagging skills. Now that my 16 yo hard running kid has been seved well by one, I'm officially impressed. Tough as nails, easy to build, pretty fast, engine that just won't quit....the last 2 runs were without a radiator or alternator, and it finished 5th and 1st, and it never faltered. In fact, I think I am now inspired to ask about a couple of sitters that I know about. W's....not so much. Only been to one show where they were allowed as compacts. There were 3 W's there, including mine. None of them impressed me. All 3 got the snot kicked out of them by rwd Fords & AMC's. I don't think I'll buy another, unless I can turn a profit on it.

That just leaves more W's for me.

And that is just fine by me. I know you have had a great string of runs with them. Stick with what works for you, right?
If you didn't live in Nigeria, you could help me turn that profit, then turn a profit of your own ;D

After 2nd place in round 1. Pulled the passenger frame rail right away from the floor. Lost spark. 14 years.....first Dura Spark failure. Wasn't any Dura Spark component after all. Just needed more slack in my power wire. When the floor bent, the battery pulled away from it...broke the wire.

These are my pintos, my wagon I am still building. The wagon on the right is the one I'm taking to Mt. Pleasant this year. Hoping to place again soon, would be great to do it at my home town track. Attachments:
