Sounds like your local derby is stuck in 1985...LOL Haha!! You are so right! It¸'s really retarded! I live close to Dom Rochefort and lots of small derbys around here don't allow cages/seat bars/dash bars... in any form. I almost got hurt last year because my buddys car was hit and the back of his car spinned and pushed my driver's door. It was really close...
I told the promoter that, if the rules aren't not changing, this will be my last year running there (hometown show...) I love derby but I also have to wake up in 1 piece to go to work the next monday morning...
It's ridiculous... it only take 1 accident to tarnish all the events around and i'm sure insurances copagnies, towns... will stop everything... We already have environnement people on our backs here because the paddocks on a lot of derbys are often in "fields" (not asphalt) and they are concerned with oïl spills, coolant spills... and they want to put an end on shows... They already did for a couple of smalls shows...
So and injury would be the end of it!
OK... I feel better now!

100% agree with you and here the environment guys already said if we have to work on a car we have to put a tarp underneath to avoid contamination

^^^ I'd clamp the leaf springs together on your next one, maybe pull a few off the old car to add to the stack too.

I.......Can't......Kill......This.......F#+king.....Car!!!!!. And it's very aggravating because I have a couple more diplomats and three old iron mopars to build. The run after this was taken, it lasted a whopping 28ish seconds.........before it grenaded both the front and rear u joints, and rear u joint straps. FML.

What's the difference between a dippy squad car and a regular one Not sure I ever saw one. But if I had one there wold be a lot of extra bracing. No enough people run them for them to no what supposed to be where as long as you plug weld and look factory add on and age the welds and that then shouldn't be no one saying nothing.

I talked to a guy/looked at one a little. Supposedly better rearends, engine upgrades. Main difference I noted was the speedo went a helluva lot higher. Personally didn’t note any other differences as I couldn’t climb under it. Might need to stop by and see if he still has it
