I guess you could try tab, bottom and back. And tilt it that way should be able to weld all that back. Im not sure just the tab will give you the tilt advantage. Not allowed to tilt so can't make it super obvious. Main reason I'm doing it is the way it is bent. You can do it by just cutting that front tab. Had a buddy do that to one bc he didn't know the proper way to tilt a Ford by cutting the tabs so he only cut the front tab. I remember him saying it was a pain in the butt to get it to tilt but it's definitely doable. But if you have motor and trans still in that would help I think

Hey guys, building my first full size, a 53 ford mainline, gonna be running at bash. Just looking for some basics when building a full size such as best place to notch or dimple frame on a leaf sprung car, stacking leaf springs, easy ways to raise or lock ride height on leaf cars, seen guys run 9 wires connecting rear humps together, does that help. How about best way to chain motors and rear ends to the car. Assuming I won't get all these questioned answered but any advice would greatly be appreciated, not much info on building cars from the 50s lol

Otherwise I'm going to suggest selling it to a restore or rat-rod guy if it's decent and get yourself something little easier to build for 1st time... I've been building for 20+ years and probably wouldn't even attempt that build. Get a Vic or GM. Would think you could get enough to buy a different car. Just my opinion.

Yes this for relic class, car has no title and not worth restoring, floors and body are all pretty straight and clean minus a few rusty spots. Got the car for a good price and already purchased entry fee for bash and just looking to have fun lol planning on a rear end swap, 8.8 is what I'm leaning towards, got a 350 4 bolt main with a turbo 350, planning on getting a nlr lower motor mount and slider drive shaft as well. Already got cage, tires and all the basic things just never ran full size, leaf sprung at that. Just looking for the basic things so I can put on a show

A really good cage and really good dependable drive train will go a long way. But I don’t know anything about those cars but I would make it bend at rear of left spring brackets

Id go with a 9in instead of a 8.8 jmo though. Had a buddy run a 50s Ford once. From what I can remember tierods are a weak point so if you're allowed id swap them out. Not sure what rules for the relic class allow. But set rearend to pack as much as possible without ripping leafs loose and id recommend hardnosing idk how good the bumper brackets would be on one of those. And thats about all I remember from that build and it held up pretty well really
