iron lol.. try takein a dodge two wheel drive front crossmember and puttin in front of the stock chevy one then weld the two rods that come off that to the a arms it will slow down the swayin a little then plate them after one run..

Ok, are there any other weak spot on the truck i need to know about, it's not stock anymore, it's getting modified now and it's almost done. could you give me some good modifing tips too?

Make sure you take your rear shocks off. I've had a couple of trucks take side shots that dimpled the frame from the shock hitting it. This pic shows the results after a "shock dimpled" frame makes a couple of back to back hits. Of course I didn't have the leafs clamped on this truck and that didn't help any but I've had other trucks get the same dimple from side shots that had good leaf packs. Also, the front of this frame is how I think most stock 2-wheel drives bend which gives steering issues. I ran a truck lower in the front the last couple of years and it bent straight up in front of the steering box. It wasn't good for my clip but the truck steered just fine.

I've got the box bolted down with 2 bars going accross the box(one under the frame and one in the box) I drilled down through the box and put treaded rod through both bars and the box it shouldn't go anywhere, I've got my fingers crossed. and thanks alot for all the tips. keep em comin.

whats the upside to converting a 4x4 to 2 wheel drive. Most likely to satisfy rules. The rules I run do not allow any straight front axles and most of the truck laying around are 4 wheel drives. In a pinch I could pull the 2 wheel suspension off of an old demo truck and put it on a 4x4 chassis. Otherwise I don't see an advantage to converting away from leafs

i think hes meaning either 1 of 2 things
1- a cage hidden by sheet metal under the hood
2- a DP, cradle, carb protector......

The first one, I was just going to put 3 inch tubing under the hood along both fenders and accross the front? I don't know if i should weld it or bolt it, probably do both, my derby is in 2 1/2 weeks, would like lots of good tips if you guys don't mind. ;D

ive only seen this done once in the late 90s or very early 2000's. his was bolted and no it wasnt allowed then.
