I'm gonna try to get an explorer ready for the bash. never built or ran a mini truck before so its all gonna be new for me. plus its gonna be my first derby since 2008. y'all that are running better take it easy on me...lol.

Well if you can build a motor that runs longer than 5 minutes, you may make it into the money.....
btw thats not a shot at you, just to all the people who ran last year. litterally half the field died out QUICK.

lol I knew where you was going with that comment no offense taken. I just hope to get done in time. Shouldn't be to much of an issue. Since we haven't built a derby car for over 5 years getting all the parts together might be the hardest part. That and trying to figure out how to make a SBC fit into the engine compartment of a 96 explorer. We did get everything but the engine compartment stripped on sunday so we are underway with getting it ready.

Well making slow progress on the truck. I think my hardest things on this truck are going to be how to get the engine to sit secure and then getting the steering set-up since its kinda weird with the 4-wheel drive. Any thing you guys want to share sure would help. its a 1996 ford explorer 4x4 by the way.

Looks like i wont make the bash after all. We cant figure out how to get a SBC to sit in it and clear the steering. There just isn't enough room to make it all fit. I tried guys guess i'll just be a spectator at the bash now.

Hey Charlie better change your back tires. They told me no tractor treads or anything of the sort.
