the newer dodges like 96ish are boxed frames up front, heavy duty frames up front but it would be worth a build imo

How would a 74 Power Wagon do tipped in a full weld derby with a wedged bed and a pointy up front?

I don't think a wedged bed and pointy bumper will help if you're tipped ;D

Haha, my baf Darrin. And hanson, sort of tilted... The nose about 30" to bottom of bumper. Maybe like 12" in the back.

Around here it would probably last a show or 2, not sure about how trucks are built out east though.
And if i ran against a truck that was set @ 12" in the rear I know where i would aim for.......

Would the 96 to 98 dodge be worth putting a pointy on? Any help would be appreciated.

That low of a back end has its benefits for rolling people or whatever, but I wouldn't do it personally, I would say make it level, or the backend a little under.

Last show had 4 trucks. There was bad bagging. Just need something that last a couple years and waken up the locals. Not gonna be driven by me this year if it even gets done. But the majority of the building will be done by me.

I agree with noser, I personally wouldn't like getting rolled by a truck built like that, it's not safe for the other drivers, as we learned alot of bad things can happen. Its alot easier to bend a rim on top than in the center of the rim (In my opinion).
I got a 61 D-300 4x4, it doesnt seem to have ball joints in the front, everything seems to be enclosed in a ball and socket type of joint. Anyone know if these are worth money, but more importantly are they strong? im not sure i want to trust the shaft housing shaft on the front end, if you understand that terminology. any input? thanks

Maybe t'll be around 16" than.. Not sure if it's even gonna be ran or not. May be a strip and go thing. Part it out. Run it. Many possibilities.

the closed knuckle ball ended axles are junk had one under a 60s dodge that did fine but never took a tire shot had the same thing under a highboy and took one tire shot and the whole tire hub and everything broke off there is a sort of cap deal top and bottom on them if you run it pull them off and pull the axle shafts out of housing and run some 1" thread rod threw it and suckittight including steering arm and then i welded the shit out of it and took it to 2 more shows but your best bet would be a ball joint or king pin axle im building a 60s ford right now wich is getting a gm 10 bolt front axle fits right under it just need diffrent ubolts the stock chev ones willwork and i am 99.9% sure it will fit under a dodge also. just for the record the thread rodded axle will be stronger but will add some slop as the hole is slightly larger but i never had a problem also load the tie rod or make a stronger one they bend easy
