just wondering what intake every one is going with? the rpm or victor jr? I have both and getting the GM one soon too. So far between the 2 of those i cant tell a difference. By design i cant believe theres more than 3-5 Hp difference in them. I can twist the Vr jr 8200 with a 750 on it. I think most of you are 2bbl guys and at that point the intake is way too big for what your doing. I would go with what is cheaper.

I have only ran the RPM up to 7700. not that i did not want to but with the gear in it would have had me up to 150 ish mph and i didnt have the nuts to run it in there that hard. I do have some sense. Not sure what a "hp" is or an "Ultra HP" is.

getting a short block and can get great deal on heads and cam just wanted to know before i bought. thanks joker LS1 cam and heads are a great HP booster if 5.3's or 6.0's. As long as they are cheap. I mean cheap like no more than $200 for the package. If not keep lookin. Actually look on the east coast. Pretty popular take off stuuff right now. The heads you want if you are looking for 5.7 stuff is 241, 243 and 853.

I have a carbed LQ4 with a low duration, high lift, low lsa cam with milled L92 heads and all I can say is it's a beast. THe perfect derby combo would be any 5.3L+ with the GM hot cam. It's torque curve is so smooth and would do EXTREMELY well in carbed applications with most of your rpm's in the 3k+ range. THe MSD box is a nice piece. Real easy to adjust the timing curve via a laptop

i agree. it really does not matter the combinations, you wont loose. From stock to built they are great derby engines. The hot cam really does not trip my trigger but i am a low duration guy and wish there were more split duration cams out there on a 108. that would be perfect. but ill settle for stock.

Also a 6.0 out of a 01 for 880..... 1. there were no 5.3s in cadillacs. 2. any year is fine and any mileage is good. Oh i know i was saying i found 5.3's out of 00-01 and the engine im assuming is a 6.0 was out of a 2000. So what about the 5 speeds cause the 6spd search is becoming a headache

What year 5 speeds will bolt up to these? Im not aware of any 5 speeds that will unless they were out of trucks. in the similar years. The 6 speeds do but those gear boxes are pricey along with the clutches and parts.
